Our Practice

Attorney Jim Howaniec was born and raised in Lewiston, and attended Lewiston schools. He graduated from Lewiston High School, Merrimack College, and Suffolk University Law School. After graduating from law school in 1985, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in Augusta. He was elected Mayor of Lewiston in 1989, and has been in private practice in Lewiston since then.

Now in his twentieth year in the practice of law, Attorney Howaniec has gained a reputation as a thorough, committed, and experienced trial attorney. He was selected by Barrister Magazine as one of the top young lawyers in the nation, and has gained a high rating from his fellow attorneys in the nationally recognized Martindale-Hubbell lawyer directory publication. Since 1991, his office has been located at 145 Lisbon Street in Lewiston.
